Hector and his Songs
The songs on this website are drawn from the first and second booklets of Hector's songs, set to borrowed tunes, celebrating Hector’s memories over the years. Many are new – some were featured in the first booklet A Place in Loch Broom. Hector has made many other songs and poems not included in either booklet.
In my first booklet A Place in Loch Broom I asked the question ‘Will there be another book?’ My answer was ‘Time will tell’.
My thanks go to everyone who has contributed in to the booklet and this website's production. Ewan McVicar of Gallus Publications has edited the booklet and created the website, enabling me to use colour, enhancing the production and layout. Also Ewan’s valued advice and professional ‘know-how’.
Ewan’s wife Linda for her kind hospitality and excellent catering ‘arrangements’. Thank you Linda.
Dorothy Malone for her work in compilation and typing, also for her patience and enthusiasm, again without her expertise my two books certainly would not have been published.
And Morag for her understanding and tolerance when I ‘retreat’ to my ‘room’ to spend time finalising new compositions.
The original words of the songs are mine and the photographs are mine and Dorothy’s.
