FROM INVERASDALE TO POOLEWE - HECTOR MACKENZIE'S SONGS
The Photo Display
tune - Tioram air Tir
Required old photos an appeal did go out
Of Little Loch Broom and all round about
The public response was never in doubt
For a photo display beyond Badcaul.
For a wee while the response it was slow
The deadline approaching not many to show
But nearing the time it was all systems go
For a photo display beyond Badcaul.
The last week or two the appeal they did heed
To show all the photos four walls they did need
A splendid collection by all was agreed
The photo display beyond Badcaul.
Acquaintances met after many a year
Reminisced for a while of that it was clear
Some from a distance and some from quite near
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
Reunions were formed dispelling all fears
A ‘bit’ of emotion and perhaps hidden tears
To meet once again after fifty odd years
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
The photos depicted in all ways were grand
Of infants and weddings and sport of the land
Of family excursions and day work in hand
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
‘It’ also depicted an estate in its prime
Pleased to have lived there before its decline
One big happy family at that ‘special time’
The photo display beyond Badcaul
Some images shown we remember so well
Going back many years all a story to tell
It made one quite humble emotions to quell
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
Each picture on show a sight to behold
A precious memory to sometime if told
The images surely were worth more than gold
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
Now to conclude the display a success
All the photos they sure did impress
A wee bit nostalgic I freely confess
At the photo display beyond Badcaul.
