The Disturbance
tune – The Waters of Kylesku
Again we have disturbance the blades are spinning round
For a year or two at least were spared that dreadful sound
But again they are revolving clear memories from before
Oh how I wish for evenings calm just as in days of yore.
No more to savour peaceful nights in the garden sampling wine
The turbine will be turning with its incessant whine
The bearings will be grinding if mistaken I am not
The peaceful calm of yesterday will never be forgot.
No more our neighbours do come round nor family come to stay
The dread the awful droning noise at all times of the day
And when they’d go to bed at night defenders they’d must wear
Completely unacceptable but they whine they would not hear.
What ere direction o’er the hill from whence the wind doth blow
Respect for individuals the turbine does not show
The blades keep on revolving all day and through the night
Nowhere to find a safe retreat from my distress and plight.
In days gone by when under stress I’d spend time in the shed
But now no more tranquillity a whining drone instead
No more a soothing remedy when dressing wood or horn
The drone is never ending dark shadows claim the norm.
With nature to the rescue from the whine we get relief
The blades they cease revolving much joy beyond belief
Appreciate the winds own tune sweet music to the ear
But all too short an interlude and again the drone we hear.
We know we have a problem a problem for to solve
But where to find an answer and with whom to involve
So meantime we will ‘soldier’ on regardless of the whine
The only remedy at hand – keep sampling vintage wine.
